Artist Statement
The "Cold Wind" cd has been nominated for a Whammie! Allan has released a new cd titled "This Dream" available at, http://cdbaby.com/all/freerein This cd presents 12 new tunes from Allan, and showcase some outstanding DC talent.
Bio
Allan has been playing guitar since the late sixties, and was first inspired by the Beatles, Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Mamas and Papas, Youngbloods. Later in life, he was influenced by classical and Jazz musicians, way to numerous to mention them all. The 70's found Allan playing in coffee houses up and down the North East, most notably at Cafe Lena's in upstate NY, the place where Dylan, Mitchel and the like, got their start. Since that time there have been periods of long inactivity, and periods of frenzied songwriting and giging. Jazz, Classical, Country, Folk, Bluegrass, Rock n Roll and Blues, and the greats that produced that music, have all been woven into Allan's style.
Influences/Similar To
Some material is reminncent of SRV, Buddy Guy, Clapton, Steely Dan, other reminds one of the days of the jazz ballad, and those wonderful swing tunes of the 30's and 40's
